1. Love It!
Love Love Love this! I'm glad I read the reviews and believe I made the right choice spending the extra dollars and buying this case. Shuts off and turns on automatically when cover is opened or closed. Nice soft feel to the case. Kindle snaps right in. Stands up nicely. It costs a little more than the rest but well worth it. Why not do it right the first time and just buy this one. You'll be pleased with your purchase.

2. Fits Perfect. Origami idea is cute.
The case is pretty perfect. Fits the Kindle Fire HD (not HDX) 7" very snugly. All buttons work properly with no issue. Plenty of room for your headphone jack and mini usb jack. My only annoyance is that when using the cover/stand in portrait, it doesn't sit flush to the table which makes it tilt VERY slightly. For my OCD mind it throws me off. The origami folding cover takes some getting used to, but is a very cute/functional idea.

Best Cover
This is an outstanding cover. I love how it automatically puts my kindle fire into sleep mode when closed and wakes it up when opened. I love also how it the origami feature holds it while watching movies...makes it so easy to watch movies while I'm laying in bed. I hope they never change this cover...it is truly the best EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1. Armor fit for a Mandalorian.
When I initially got my HDX I was surprised at how light and thin it was. Naturally this made it compact and easy to carry, but also it worried me that it could break easily. Well now, I'm not worried about that at all. The instructions were a bit vague, but it took me only a few minutes(and since I bite my nails, a small screwdriver) to get it open and installed. Just make sure you thoroughly clean your screen, the back of the built in screen protector and if you used a cleaner be sure to let them dry. I had to open mine back up to finish drying it so it didn't streak. Another nice thing about it is since the edges are flared out it gives you a much better grip on it without having to put any pressure on the screen, which had me worried about either damaging it or dropping it. After putting it on, granted it adds some weight and size but it is now, nigh indestructible. I initially was worried about dropping 80 bucks on a case, but this was money well spent.

Later,...

2. Otter box Defender for Kindle Fire HDX 8.9
Best protection for Kindle Fire HDX 8.9. It protects the entire device. A note to Otter Box is to make a detachable swivel stand for more convenience and a lighter case. The case is a little heavy. Other than those 2 issues, I love it. I can even feel comfortable with letting my grandson carry Kindle up and down stairs without worrying about him damaging it. Make sure Kindle is turned off before placing it in the case. I say this only because my text to speech would not work until I turned Kindle off and then turned it back on. Everything works perfect now. I don't even have a complaint about the $79.00 cost after receiving it.

Built like the proverbial brick (you supply the expletive) house. Will update this review when we have received our Kindle Fire HDX 8.9". In the mean time, be aware there is a dearth of information regarding this device, especially "how to take it apart!" Step 3, in the skimpy instructions is woefully and totally inadequate. Hopefully, Otterbox will publish instructions on Youtube. It ain't easy, and you
may, quite possibly, break one of the eight tabs that hold the box in place.

This Covers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Perfect!
I love this case! I originally purchased the Marware Origin Cover, but it was a huge disappointment so I returned it and bought this instead. I was hesitant to spend so much on a case, but it's totally worth the price. It's great quality and fits snugly, but it's also light and compact (not at all bulky like I was afraid of). The cover is magnetized so it stays put, and unlike the Marware case the magnetized cover actually puts the Kindle to sleep and wakes it up when you close and open it. The origami design allows the Kindle to stand hands-free either horizontally or vertically, so it's very versatile. I am so happy I bought this case, I would recommend it to anyone.

2. love this case!
I really debated on this case I have only ever used a book style cover in the past and often propped my Kindle for ease of use. The oragami cover holds my Kindle snuggly. It snapped right in for a perfect fit. The clever design does exactly as it says. No more cramped hands and awkward propping and using 2 hands to type is a nice change. Close the cover your Kindle sleeps. Open the cover your Kindle wakes. The volume control, power and speakers are not compromised. Feels durable very pleased with this purchase.

Unique, but it works (edited)
I picked up this case locally. As of right, it works very well. The kindle snaps into the body and fits rather snug. The outside is very smooth and the lining feels soft. The design of the case is unique with the magnetic folding flaps. $45 can be pricey, but this is better than one of the cheaper cases.

Edited: After having this case for a week or so, I'm giving it 5 stars. Yes it's pricey, but for the money you're paying for great quality.

This Cases give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Fantastic Case With A Few Flaws
So I've had over a week now to spend some time with both my Kindle Fire HD 8.9" and this particular leather case and I have to say, I honestly do not understand why it received so many negative reviews. However, that's not to say that this case doesn't have some issues (some more obvious than others).

Durability (5/5): You know, part of me wanted to make a video review showing me hurling this case straight down onto pavement. Could I do it? Sure! Do I think the Kindle would hold up if it were inside the case while I conducted this experiment? Yes. The reason why I didn't though is because I can only imagine how many people would cringe at the idea of looking at such a scene. Plus, while I am confident in the strength of the case, I'd rather be safe than sorry in this particular matter. Still, it does feel quite sturdy and I suppose the reason why people say (in other reviews) that it "feels cheap" is probably because it is so thin (which in my opinion is a good thing). If...

2. I'm surprised by some of the reviews
I don't think the cover seems cheaply made, nor have I had any trouble with the Fire falling over (I've used the stand only in the landscape orientation). I like the sleep/wake function built into the cover, the leather looks good, it adds very little weight to the Fire, there's no chemical smell, and the fit is snug without resorting to the use of corner straps or having to slip the Fire into a holder that covers the bezel. I like the cover so much I'm thinking of buying a second one in another color.

The Thinnest case I have seen, with some cons
OK, I could have given this case 3 stars for some of the cons. I did not because of the way Amazon markets the case on their site probably clarifies what you are buying. The key here is THINNESS! And many people love a thin LIGHT case. Amazon designed this case to be the thinnest, and Amazon may very well have achieved that. I think this is a good thing. So good, that I have given this case 5 stars. Just know, you are buying thin.

5 stars for thin and protective case... about half an inch with the FireHD 8.9. (hard to measure, I need calipers!). I will tell you why I think some of the one star ratings are given...and they fall in two areas: One, the case looks cheap when you see the lower half inside. Two, the case can not be propped at a low angle to one's desk and still type well on it. We will look at both of these items... there are, I am sure, other reasons for low rankings, some due to perceptions of "a good case."

First, everyone has (perhaps) their...

This Covers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Bullet Proof!
Perfect fit that totally seals the HDX inside a cocoon of hard plastic, flexible rubber/silicone. All features work without interference from the on/off & volume buttons to the speakers.

Comes with a captive silicone screen protector that does not in anyway, alter or obstruct the excellent display (Retina who?). Feel free to use a stylus or your finger, but no extra pressure(or tapping) is needed for the touch screen to work for any function. I think it may even enhance the touch screen function, even though it's probably 4-6mils thick.

The only minor issue was that the flexible outer case locks in to the plastic so well, it was hard to get it apart. Think "Zip Lock", and just place a fingernail in the seam to start the process.

The inner case has the captive screen protector/frame and a hard plastic back. These two snap apart and you place the HDX between them and snap back together. The flexible, black silicone/rubber outer back case slips...

2. Best Case
First let me say that this is one of the best products you can buy to protect your Kindle Fire HDX. It give all around protection and sure it is alittle pricey but if you have bought any Otterbox in the past it has been more than your average case because it more than your average case. People complain that it's bulky or heavy well drop it with a cheap thin case and you will be asking why didn't I buy the otterbox. You want thin ten don't add a case take your chances.Don't complain about products for what they are because you should have know that BEFORE you bought it. It's not the products fault, its your fault. Get this case well worth the price.

Works well but bulky
Went to best buy so I could put my hands on this before deciding what case to get for my soon to be purchased Fire HDX. As the case was not available to view at the store for the actual kindle HDX, there were otter box ones for other models/competitors. While it is very sturdy and protective of the item encased, it is very bulky and heavy and will def need to be considered if total weight is a concern to you.

1. Epic Failure
We bought two Otter Box Defenders to protect the Kindle Fire HDs we bought for our sons. I am not sure who the designers or engineers were for the Otter Box but not being able to charge them or plug in head phones while in the case is a major oversight. Having to remove the Kindles from the case to access the head phone jack defeats the purpose of buying them in the first place. Even the ability to turn the Kindle on and off is a challenge while inside the case. The designers placed openings on both sides of the back of the case for what I assumed to be access to the power and volume buttons, unfortunately you can barley use them. The two cases I purchased will be returned very soon.

2. I consider this the best case for the All-New Kindle Fire 7" Tablet!
We bought two of these for our sons' Kindles - the All-New Kindle Fire 7" tablet (currently $139.00) - and LOVE them so far. These cases FIT PERFECTLY. I have read a few other reviews stating that they do not, but I assure you that they do fit, and all buttons, ports, speakers are fully accessible. We bought these cases based on previous experience with OtterBox Defender cases for the iPhone, and these are built very similar. It has the internal hard plastic shell with the built-in clear screen protector which basically envelopes the entire device, the rubber/silicone outer cover that hugs around the internal case, and a cover/shell that can be snapped over the front to add another layer of protection when the Kindle is not being used. This cover also doubles as a stand that can be utilized in a variety of ways. I feel confident now that they boys' Kindles are much more protected and can live up the normal abuse children can inflict on electronic devices. Another huge...

Nothing even comes close.
I ordered this back on the 30th of September and felt that it was going to be worth the wait. I was not disappointed. This case gives the New Kindle all around protection, including the screen. Now, this case is not for the "I just need a cover" crowd. This case is a tank and looks like it will stand up to just about anything besides being put under water that you can throw at it.

Forget the Square Trade protection plan, get one of these and forgidaboutit.

This review is for the the no-ad 64 GB wifi-only HDX 8.9. To Amazon's credit it arrived about 2 weeks earlier than originally claimed.

I have a Galaxy S3 Android smartphone so the HDX is for media / web surfing. Since I had already been using Amazon Prime and Cloud Music it was a no brainer for me to use the HDX to fill the role of media / web surfing on a tablet.

Be informed about the download limitations to this device. Amazon has been adding clarification to this which should help would-be purchasers make a more informed opinion. This wasn't as obvious as it should have been when I ordered mine so they're listening which is good.

Be aware that their most popular Prime content *may* not be available to download to your HDX. Caddyshack can be downloaded but not The Hunger Games. As you can see, I been through many devices and hope this review with my experience helps users decide if this is the right device for them. This will be an ongoing review for this device throughout this next year. For comparison sake, I will use last year's Kindle and iPad mini...

2. Excellent 3rd-generation tablet that compares favorably to the competition
This is the middle model of the three models that Amazon is shipping this year: the Kindle Fire HD, the Kindle Fire HDX (this tablet), and the Kindle Fire HDX 8.9". This is the successor for last year's Kindle Fire HD but with an updated operating system and new features, a redesigned shell (with the power and volume control buttons more readily accessible), an absolutely amazing display, superb sound, an included power adapter, and the new Mayday feature. See http://www.amazon.com/review/RNH700DOM9WN3/ for my review of the Kindle Fire HD and http://www.amazon.com/review/R2YPITHVTYLCZT for my review of the Kindle Fire HDX 8.9".

Update: Some users are reporting a bluish glow around the edges of the screen for the HDX. If you search on YouTube for HDX Blue Haze, you can find a video showing the issue. Amazon has updated their "Learn More" link with the following info:

Nice Tablet with Sharp Display
To sum up what I will tell you about in the details below, for $229 you are getting a good deal on a tablet computer - especially if you compare it to the $199 for last year's first-generation Fire HD and the $500 or more you can spend on a Wi-Fi version of the iPad. Overall, if you consider the price and the functionality I think this is a great tool / toy if you watch a lot of video or play a lot of games on your device: the video quality is outstanding and you can really tell a difference between this and the new HD Fire. If you are a first-time tablet buyer, where price vs. value is a key consideration, or if you are looking for an affordable tablet for the kids, I'd recommend the "regular" Kindle Fire HD that is only $139. If you're comparing last year's HD model to this version and it is operating fine, I'd say save your money and continue to get your money's worth out of that one.

My review below compares a lot of the features of this version of the Fire HDX to the...

  • Desined by Amazon to fit the Kindle Fire HDX 7", the all new Kindle Fire HD, and the original Kindle Fire
  • Simple, stylish, lightweight sleeve protects against scuffs and scratches
  • Convenient zipper closure keeps your device secure when you're on the go
  • Available in 5 colors

This Sleeves give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Not much to complain about
I got mine 2 days after my Kindle, and it's made a nice resting place for my Kindle when not in use.

Quality:
I certainly don't see any creases or obvious defects in workmanship like some other reviewers have claimed. The leathery handle material tends to pick up some finger grease occasionally, but that comes off easily with a cloth. While I can't say it's made of the most amazing material or quality, it's certainly comparable to many other sleeves. It beats the $5 - 10 eBay sleeves I've gotten for other devices, by far. I can't understand why people are leaving such negative reviews, that $30 is too much for something like this, especially when they clearly could see what it looked like in the product images (did you forget to zoom?) before purchasing. What I got was exactly as pictured and described, and I have very little room for complaints about the quality.

Smell:
I don't know what everyone else is smelling, but we're either all old here,...

2. kindle fire cover...i had hopes!
First time reviewing. I wanted to give this product a chance after preordering it and then subsequently reading negative comments as I anticipated its arrival. Here are my pros and cons:

Pros:
-I like the combo of the coral and brown kindle logo brown faux leather strip
-It does fit the kindle fire, although it is more snug than what I was expecting

Cons:
-It does have a chemical odor as others have stated
-It is very thin/ not much padding going on inside the "egg crate" style interior
-It is pretty overpriced for what you get...maybe not dollar store bad...but maybe $10 and it would be more realistic for what you get

I will be returning this for possibly a rooCASE which seemed to get much better reviews.
On the plus side, I am writing this review from my new fire and I'm pleased so far!

Edit: it looks like amazon is charging a fee to return this as it's not technically defective? I may end up keeping it...

Reasonable expectations, reasonable Zip Sleeve
Does the Kindle Fire Zip Sleeve smell? Yes. Mine arrived today, and as other reviewers have shrieked to the blackened skies of woe, there's a light-to-medium plastichemical odor.

Dealbreaker? Perhaps for some. Maybe my sense of smell has dulled a smidge over the years, but there's no way the sleeve's emanations will permeate a household, car, bus, bedroom, insert-enclosed-space here. After removing mine from the packaging, I parked it on my front porch in the fresh air for a couple of hours, and the scent is mostly diminished. I'm fairly confident the remaining odor will dissipate over time, but if it doesn't, I'm reasonably sure it's not going to induce mid-40s limb deformities. If you're overly sensitive to these types of odors, you'll probably want to save yourself the hassle and find something constructed from different materials.

Yes, it's expensive. I knew that when I bought it. I certainly wouldn't condemn the sleeve to an asinine 1-star review...

This Digital Pens give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Love it!
My husband did not want one, but I did. Well that changed as soon as he tried it. He keeps stealing mine while we wait for his to arrive. It's very comfortable to hold. Even natural. The tip is soft, but efficient. I am very pleased with this purchase.

UPDATE- My husband decided to order in the generic ones in a value pack. Although it wasn't a bad purchasee, I personally prefer this one. For lack of a better way to describe it, the soft end is supposed to bounce back when squished. The generic ones don't seem nearly as resilient and I would be concerned with one not holding up as it should and inadvertently scratching the screen. The marware does not push down the same way and it bounces back immediately so I don't have the same concerns there.

2. Not worth the extra cost
I purchased this mainly because it came in different colors and I was able to buy a black, orange and pink one. There were no reviews when I purchased and I assumed that I would also be getting top of the line quality for the premium price paid. I paid $15 each...

This product meets basic expectations as it works properly, but unless you are in it just for the color I would suggest a different product as there is nothing special about this one. I would compare the quality to others available in the $3-$5 range.

Aside from the high price the other negative is the clip on the stylus is extremly tight, I had to bend it somewhat to allow it to slide in the designated slot on my tablet case. I am a bit worried that repeating the bending may snap the clip off, I wish it had a little more give.

Overall I wish I would have purchased something else for the money, you will be disappointed if you assume like me that spending a bit extra will yeild something...

Excellent Stylus
Great stylus and very easy to use with the new Kindle Fire HD 7". I also highly recommend this stylus for an iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. I have a 4th gen iPod Touch and it works great with that. The tip looks too big but it isn't. Prior to this I purchased another stylus (Ten One) and it stop working after a month. These aren't just a "pen" with a rubber tip. They have passive circuitry that mimics the static (capacitive) touch properties of your finger.

Highly recommended.

Kindle Paperwhite, 6" High Resolution Display with Next-Gen Built-in Light, Wi-Fi - Includes Special Offers

Unlike tablets, Kindle Paperwhite is designed to deliver the best reading experience, period.  Kindle Paperwhite has no screen glare in bright sunlight, a battery that lasts weeks, not hours, and a next gen built-in light that allows you to read without eyestrain.
  • No screen glare in bright sunlight

1. More evolutionary than revolutionary, but worth the upgrade
This is the fifth e-ink Kindle reader that I've bought. My wife and I were early adopters of Kindle, and when we buy a new Kindle, the old one goes to the next niece or nephew in line. I loved the original Paperwhite, with its small size, touch screen, front-lighting, and virtual keyboard. The all-new Paperwhite is a definite step up, and for me, it was worth the move, but others will have to decide for themselves. If you read a lot, and you don't already have one of the newer e-ink Kindles, it's definitely worth upgrading to the Paperwhite. If you have the original Paperwhite, the upgrade is well worth considering. Although I've only had the new Paperwhite a few hours, I'm already glad I upgraded. Here's a summary of my initial impressions of the new Paperwhite.

SIZE: It's the same size as the original Paperwhite - 6.7"x4.6"x0.36". The weight has been reduced slightly from 7.8 ounces to 7.3 ounces. The Paperwhite is very comfortable to hold in one hand, which is how I...

Good as a first Paperwhite, not worthy of an upgrade
This review is for the second generation Kindle Paperwhite. Like all kindle e-readers before it, this is a great product. However, I am a bit disappointed as there is not a huge improvement over last year's model. For this review, I focused on features and enhancements exclusive to the new Paperwhite and tried to make comparisons to last year's model. Also, I found somethings misrepresented or confusing in the advertising, so I will try to clear them up.

HARDWARE

Design - The Kindle white has a nice look and shape. It fits well and is easy to hold in one hand. It's fairly light, so it doesn't tire the hands too much. I can grip it for long periods before having to switching hands. Its design is very similar to the previous Paperwhite - almost identical. The height and width are the same, the buttons are in the same location, and although this version is slightly lighter, it is not noticeable.

Display - Although not a huge improvement from last year's...

2. KF HDX 8.9 is ok; do homework on Prime download before you buy

You can download certain videos but you won't know which ones until you buy an HDX and try it out. There is no banner (like the Prime banner on the movie icon) to show...

This Tablets give to us some advantages, like this :
1. A good upgrade from last year's model - Beautiful Display, Great Device - Fell short on battery life
For those who are looking at getting the best tablet out there at the moment, this is the one you should be looking at.

My profile: Heavy tablet users for personal and business purposes. I work on my tablet around 4-5 hours a day (Email / Documents / Spreadsheet / PDF ) and use it 1-2 hours for personal use such as watching movies or reading books/magazine. Tablet is my go-to device for all internet related search I do.

I have the following and/or used the following before:

1) iPad 1
2) iPad 2
3) iPad 4
4) iPad Mini
5) Kindle Fire
6) Kindle Fire HD
7) Kindle Fire HD 8.9
8) Asus Transformer with Keyboard
9) Nexus 7 First Gen

"To achieve the perfect color accuracy on Kindle Fire HDX 7" at the lowest possible battery...

This Tablets give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Rocks! Power Adapter included, Prime download clarification

2. KF HDX 8.9 is ok; do homework on Prime download before you buy

You can download certain videos but you won't know which ones until you buy an HDX and try it out. There is no banner (like the Prime banner on the movie icon) to show...

An enlarged version of the 7" HDX - Same good internal components with a nicer screen- still a battery hog though
Simply put, this is the Amazon’s iPad Air Killer. The 7” HDX is the iPad mini killer. Both HDXs inherent very similar hardware. This means the 8.9” version is an enlarged version of the 7” version. For my 7” version review, please search for my HDX 7” review.

Kindle Fire Genuine Leather Cover by Marware, Black (will not fit HD or HDX models)

  • Certified "Made for Kindle" accessory (Kindle Fire)
  • Durable, genuine leather folio lined with soft microsuede for enhanced protection against impact and scratching
  • Transforms to stand the Kindle Fire in 2 angles ideal for viewing and display
  • Built-in interior hand strap for improved grip and hold during usage
  • Convenient, high-grade elastic strap holds the lid open or closed

This Cases give to us some advantages, like this :
1. sturdy, great for watching videos,& walking while holding

2. Functional and formidable, albeit pricey.
It feels nice to hold, and looks sorta slick. The little grippers feel solid, I'm hoping the Fire will fill out the bit of give my 3g has in the case though. Like was said, it's not exactly nice leather, in fact I'm not entirely convinced it's real leather, but the case does have a fairly dense padding feel to it like it would absorb a good amount in a drop. Also, all the corners are covered with the hardest padding, which is important. As for the folding display feature, it's less... what's the word... mechanical, I guess, than I would hope. It's more zen and the art of bending the cover. It's rather loosely held in that position relying on the friction between the bottom of the kindle and the padding. The case is fairly rigid, even in the crease so hopefully it'll loosen up in time, but this is a far-cry from the nifty iPad magnetic cover display. This is also far from cheap, it's actually fairly expensive, then again, all of your options are. I look at it this way, is it worth $15...

The Best Case So Far...
I also bought the "Kindle Fire Lightweight MicroShell Folio Cover by Marware, Graphite". Do yourself a favor if you are on the fence between the two, and buy this one. The MicroShell is no comparison. For those that say this leather if cheap, I am not sure that they understand what quality leather is. The leather is very nice, and the construction of this case is solid. It protects well, appears well built, and in my opinion, is worth every penny.

Pros:
-Fits like a glove
-Very nice quality
-Built in handstrap is awesome, and functions well
-Corner tabs hold the Fire in tight
-Stand works (unlike the MicroShell)

Cons:
-One of the tabs partially covers the speaker, although I do not notice a huge reduction in sound volume or quality
-A very strong volatile organic compound (VOC) odor, which is likely from the manufacturing process

I will update this review after I have had it for a longer period of time, but so...
